Ocean Frontiers for Sustainable Development - Manifesto (Nov. 2018)Internal

On April 26, 2018 EuroMarine organised the Ocean Frontiers for Sustainable Development open workshop to contribute to the ongoing discussions on the future European research agenda and to identify priorities in the marine research area. During the workshop, participants discussed scientific priorities in relation to the European Commission's FP9 programme.

These discussions led to the development of an "Ocean Frontiers Manifesto", a document that advocates for the increased understanding, protection and management of the Ocean to support the health and well-being of present and future generations. The manifesto was submitted for review to EuroMarine Member Organisations. Their feedback was collected, summarised and incorporated by the Secretariat, and after a final approval from the Steering Committee and editing by the SC Chair (Patrizio Mariani) the manifesto was deemed ready for publication.

EuroMarine believes now is the opportune time for the European marine research community to engage with the concepts presented in this manifesto and help guide Europe and the world towards a healthier and happier future powered by science and sustainable Blue Growth

EuroMarine encourages everyone to read through and share the manifesto!
