The Institut National de Recherche Halieutique (INRH) develops strategic research plans to translate Moroccan national ambitions in the areas of fisheries, scientific research and innovation. The 2015-2017 strategic plan set a goal for fisheries research to be able to produce all the scientific knowledge necessary for the sustainable management of the fisheries sector by 2020. The six missions of the INRH are to study the functioning of marine and coastal ecosystems, monitor the quality and safety of the marine environment, assess fish stocks and monitor their exploitation, test fishing techniques, assess aquaculture potential and contribute to the development of aquaculture, and add value to fish products.
