The University of Oviedo is a public institution of higher education and research in the Principality of Asturias. It offers a full range of degrees in all branches of knowledge in collaboration with national and international universities and more than 250 companies. The University has 17 Faculties and Schools, as well as several research groups covering: Technology, Biotechnology and Environmental Geochemistry; Organic Synthesis; Bioorganic Chemistry; Biodiversity, Evolution and Conservation; and more. The University is home to about 350 young researchers, who join research groups via different calls for grants and programmes to support research training and teaching. There are also about 400 people undertaking research projects under publicly or privately funded contracts. The University of Oviedo was one of the first Spanish Universities awarded with the Campus of International Excellence.
