Overview

In 2020, the EuroMarine General Assembly (GA) meeting will take place in PiranSlovenia, on 16 January (all day) and 17 January 2019 (morning). It will be hosted and co-organised by the National Institute of Biology (NIB). Onsite lunches will be served on Jan. 16th and 17th. A dinner will be take place on the 16th.

An OYSTER Workshop will take place on Jan. 14th and 15th.

The GA meeting will followed by a (closed) EuroMarine Steering Committee meeting (on Fri 17 Jan. PM).

A General Assembly meeting of the EuroMarine Association (in charge of the budget of the Consortium from 2019 onward) will also take place.

Registration

Online registration is open from Oct. 14th until (extended deadline) Dec. 15th 2019 at https://forms.gle/Mmi3j12wp1tfoowB8.
Note: Online registration will be left open after the deadline, to allow any last minute registration from EuroMarine members. Late registrations will need to be confirmed by the Secretariat. 

Call for candidates and election of two new Steering Committee (SC) members

Two new SC members should be elected during the GA meeting (as prescribed by SC renewal rules). The call for candidates opens on 5 Dec. 2019 and closes on 5 Jan. 2020. Candidates will present themselves before the GA on 16 Jan. PM. While their term will officially start in July 2020, the two new SC members will be invited to attend the SC meeting that will be held on 17 Jan. 2020 PM after the GA meeting, and to participate in any online SC meeting or email exchanges prior to the official start of their term.

Programme

Please refer to the attached booklet. Printed copies will be included in registration packs at the meeting. The detailed agenda of the formal business and decision-making session will be made available to GA representatives prior to the meeting.

Overview

The EuroMarine General Assembly (GA) meeting took place in Piran, Slovenia, 16-17 January 2020.

It was preceded by the EuroMarine-funded Working Group meeting for EuroMarine's early career researchers, Orienting Young Scientists of EuroMarine (OYSTER). Their workshop ran from 14-15 January.

The GA was followed by a EuroMarine (closed) Steering Committee meeting, in the afternoon of 17 January.

Minutes
